Shark Families and Students,

December has rolled in and we are now in the middle of our holiday season. In just two weeks, our students are off for a well earned break. School will resume next year on Monday, January 4, 2010.

Registration for the 2010-2011 school year will begin on February 1st. As in the past, if you would like an individual family/student registration meeting date with your student and their counselor, please call the guidance office to set up an appointment. Mrs. Kennedy will take appointments anytime…her extension is 38497.

Congratulations to the Lady Shark bowling team with a very impressive 2nd place finish in the State Bowling Championship series. This was the highest team finish for any sport in Atlantic High School history. The good news about this, also, everyone returns next year! Coach Alan Canetti and the Lady Sharks were record setters all season long.

Don’t forget to monitor your student’s progress on our new Shark micrograde parent portal. If you have access to a computer, then you have access to current grades on your student. Please contact your guidance counselor if you need a password to access this data file. It’s a great way to stay on top of projects, homework, quiz and test grades, and to monitor attendance!

I hope that everyone takes time to be with family and friends this holiday season. It has not been a great time economy wise these past months, but we still have our family and friends and this time off gives everyone and opportunity to share with family the true meaning of the holiday season. Enjoy the time off, relax and we’ll see you in 2010!
