Our annual Student/Staff basketball game is going to be Friday, March 8th. If you are a Junior or Senior guy or girl and think you can take on the Staff, please see Ms. Garvin in room 3-004 for a pink form and information.  There will be guest cheerleaders and some awesome basketball talent from the staff. I have heard that Mr. Michael Jordon Temple might show up!!  Tickets will go on sale Monday, March 4th for $3.00. Remember students the staff has NEVER lost!!

Attention college bound Sharks: Atlantic is offering free ACT prep sessions in math and reading! Stop by guidance for more information & sign up today - seating is limited, so don’t delay!

National Honor Society is hosting a toiletry drive from now until we leave for Spring Break. Teachers with participating 5th period classes will have a donation box that you can place your items in. All donations will go to help the homeless in the area. The 5thperiod class with the most donated items will win a pizza party! 

Any student interested in taking the ASVAB test please sign up in the Guidance office. The test will be administered on March 7 starting at 8:30 am in the Auditorium. Please direct any questions to Mrs. R. Jackson in the front office.

Attention students 16 and over and Faculty and Staff- our next blood drive is Tuesday, March 12th, please sign up in room 3-004 with Mrs. Garvin starting March 1st. We only have one more blood drive in May. 

Daytona State College is offering free tutoring for the SAT Math every Saturday from March 30 through April 27, 2019 at 10:00 – 11:30 AM in Building 600, Room 209 on the Daytona Campus. Registration is recommended but not required. Please come to Guidance for more information.

Volunteers are needed for the upcoming Port Orange Spring Family Days event that will take place on March 28th – 31st. For sign up link, please see Mrs. Gudzin or Ms. Tai.

Juniors and Seniors . . . Prom is coming up in May . . . and there’s a great prom dress sale going on this weekend at David’s Bridal in Port Orange. All prom dresses are on sale at 20 percent off! If you are interested, you can also get an additional discount coupon in the Media Center Activities Office. Stop by and see Mrs. Gudzin.

Attention Seniors - Daytona State College will be on campus Wednesday, March 6, 2019 for onsite admissions.  Applications are done online.  There are no paper applications. Please complete the online application and see your school counselor for information and an appointment with a DSC Admissions Rep. The deadline to see your AHS school counselor for an appointment is Monday, March 4th at 3pm. Do not miss this great opportunity to be admitted at DSC now!

Sugar Mill Elementary is holding their Spring Carnival on Friday, March 1. They are looking for volunteers between 5:00- 9:00 pm. You do not have to stay the whole time -just let them know what time works for you. You need to provide your own transportation. Volunteers will help with set up, manning games/ bounce houses/ face painting, and clean up.  Please email Sugar Mill PTA contact Jenny Brashier at [email protected]m 

Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) is teaming up with Daytona International Speedway during Bike Week. They need help selling raffle tickets March 8-16. Booth hours daily are 9:00AM – 5:00PM. Shifts can be broken up from 9-1 and 1-5. Dress casual and feel free to wear a shirt representing your school. You will receive an MDA shirt – so sign up in Guidance in advance.
